Benign Mesothelioma (benign-fibrous) also known as (benign multicystic mesothelioma) is a non-cancerous tumor of the pleura, the lining of the lung and chest cavity. Benign mesothelioma forms in the pleura surrounding the lungs. The tumor actually starts from tissue under the mesothelium, called the submesothelium and is a localized tumor which affects women much more frequently than it affects men.
